There are a very large number of high street designer brands available in the womens clothes section of online department store very.co.uk. Very.co.uk is a relatively new site, which offers all the same services to its customers that a land based department store would. In doing this, it offers a very large range of different prices –from cheaper high street brands to clothes that have been made by exclusive designers. Their January sale is especially appealing to people who are seeking a bargain on designer label clothing. In the section that displays women’s shoes, there are a large number of products that come from the top end of the high street –for example Kurt Geiger, Dune and French Connection.

The shoes available that are from these high street names are all highly fashionable, whilst being at a more realistic price than the shoes that are sold by designer brands. One example is by Kurt Geiger. The very.co.uk has a large number of stylish pieces of footwear, and one of these is the Kurt Geiger ‘Alice big bow court shoe’. This shoe is designed to be very smart, and has a small heel in order that it can be worn comfortably in a professional environment. The ‘Alice’ shoe comes in smart black, and has a large bow on the front that gives a unique, feminine feel.

In a similar vein, French Connection offer their ‘Jady ankle strap peep toe shoe’. Again the shoe is designed to be worn in a professional or highly stylish office environment, and this designer feel is why it may appear expensive when compared to some of the other shoes that are available in the very.co.uk womens clothing section.

Dune offers a more elaborate shoe, the ‘Kross diamante peep toe shoe’. This shoe is light pink in colour and has a very princess like style to it. This luxurious feeling is heightened by the diamante bow on top of the toes, which sets the whole shoe off perfectly.

The beauty business is one of the biggest there is and with so many women wanting to look good the range of products and treatments available is huge. However, many people do not have the budget to spend on luxury spa treatments on a regular basis but as a one off pamper treat why not consider a little pick me up in the form of a manicure, pedicure, facial or even massage.

Most spa resorts will offer some great deals throughout the year in particular at Valentines and Christmas. Next time your loved one asks you what you might like suggest a beauty treatment and indulge in some me-time. Once you get the beauty treatment bug there will be no stopping you and what is more it will encourage you to take care of yourself on a far more regular basis.

By having your nails done by the professionals you also have the opportunity to learn the technique. You can therefore maintain great looking nails by applying what you have learnt yourself and in the comfort of your own home. The same goes for many aromatherapy treatments which are the ideal pampering choice if you want to de-stress and relax after a hard day at work.

Look out for those weekend specials too and check out your local newspaper for any salons or spas that have recently opened as they will no doubt have some great deals to reel in new customers. Treating yourself to a little beauty care will do wonder for your well being as well as give you something to look forward to. If you can try to make it a regular fixture in your diary but if it’s a question of money try setting aside any loose change and saving up for the ultimate birthday gift.

Prevention is without doubt far better than a cure particularly when it comes to illnesses and disease.

Using hair straightening is not as complex as you might think. Correct preparation is the key to achieving beautiful and healthy looking straight hair and of course a good pair of heating irons. When choosing which straighteners to buy you need not go for the most expensive. Of course most professional salon will use top of the range curling irons for both reliability and durance but there are some decent middle of the range models which also produce fantastic results.

The first thing to do when using hair straighteners is to test the temperature setting and maintain it at a fairly low heat when starting out. Too hot and you will only scorch the hair and this will only leave the hair dry and brittle and prone to breakages. Prepare the hair beforehand with a vitamin based conditioner and make sure the hair is completely dry before using the straighteners. It is in fact a good idea to wash the hair the night before to ensure it is thoroughly dry and this is a good way to save time in a morning if you have a limited amount of time to prepare yourself for work.

Take a small section of the hair at a time and gradually work your way around the head. Start by placing the irons at the root of the hair and slowly work your way down to the ends. Apply light pressure to begin with and do not hold the irons in the same spot for too long. Then increase the pressure as the heat passes down the length of the hair. You may need to pass the straighteners over the same area a couple of times if you are striving for that ultimate poker straight look.

As winter is fast approaching, we all want to look good and keep in with the latest trends. 2009 is no exception to the rule when it comes to new collections, styles and colours. Although winter is a time to wrap up it can still be done with elegance and chic and the odd splash of colour can liven up even the darkest of winter warmers.

When it comes to knitwear, over sized cardigans and jumper dresses are hitting the high street. Tights are the perfect accessory with so many patterns making an appearance and in just about every colour you can imagine. Italian style crochets scarves and knitted baker boy hats are all the rage with mitts or gloves to finish the look.

Footwear is dominated by the ankle boot with suede in particular making a comeback. Ankle boots can be worn either with a skirt or trouser and are the perfect choice to either dress up or dress down. High rise boots are also in and can be worn over a pair of skinny jeans or leggings.

Again jackets and coats are all over sized with trench coats being the favoured trend amongst the leading celebrities. Bright coloured jackets such as red and yellow are the perfect winter choice with chunky cardigans either to hip length or knee length for those milder days. These can be worn over slimmer bottoms and because they have such a bold shape they allow you to carry off bolder pieces of jewellery such as statement necklaces, layers of necklaces and big cuff bracelets.

Healthy hair is hair that looks good but in order to do so it does require a certain amount of looking after. For many the hair is the most important feature of their person and this includes men too. But in order to achieve great looking hair there are many things you should consider before even contemplating a new style, trim or colour.

Whether you believe it or not what we in actually eat can affect the condition of our hair. Poor diet and even lack of exercise can manifest itself in dull, brittle and greasy hair, so it is important to eat a healthy balanced diet and minimise junk food if you want to keep it looking good.

On average hair follicles grow at a rate of one centimetre per month but a regular trim is need to keep the ends healthy and promote the growth cycle. When it comes to styling be kind to your hair. Keep heated styling tools such as hand held driers and curling tongues to minimum usage and always on a low temperature setting. Use a paddle brush on long hair and refrain from brushing when wet as this is when the hair is at its weakest.

When washing the hair use both a shampoo and conditioner that is compatible with your hair type and rinse thoroughly to clear the hair and scalp of debris. If you are using heated appliances for styling use a protein based conditioner before hand to protect the hair from high temperatures and prevent it from drying out.

Lastly, when considering a change in colour be sure to seek out the advice of a professional hairdresser before going ahead with a home dying kit. This will avoid any disasters from happening and protect your hair from unnecessary damage.

If there’s one thing a woman will spend her money on it’s on herself. Each year the average woman in the UK spends around £2,000 on pamper products that she believes will help her look good. The beauty market is huge and ranges from clothes, cosmetics, hair care products, nails, spa treatments and aromatherapies. But with hard times hitting us all and the future not promising to be brighter for some time, is there a way to maintain a general sense of well being and continue to look good?

Without doubt beauty products and cosmetics come at a price and some can be so expensive that it would have to be pretty justifiable to blow the weekly grocery budget on a small pot of anti wrinkle crème. Thankfully the market for beauty products and cosmetics is so vast that the difference in cost from one end to another is literally huge. With this in mind looking good can be done on a budget.

When it comes to taking care of your hair, your skin and even your health there are a few things you can do that are completely free. The first thing you need to do is to have an understanding of how you body works, what it needs to function and then adapt a sensible approach. Changing your dietary habits and exercising regularly are fundamental musts when it comes to taking care of how you look and more importantly how you feel.

Basic hygiene is something that should be carried out every day and is step one of the cheapest beauty regime of all. As far as products go you do not need to fall into the trap of buying the most luxurious just because a top A- Lister is in the advert. Choose wisely and look out for those lesser known brands that can do just as good a job if not better.
